Georges St-Pierre recently heaped praise on Michael Dufort after their training session ahead of the PFL playoffs. The UFC Hall of Famer lent a helping hand to his fellow Canadian as he prepares for his semi-final matchup.

'The Canadian Bada**' will be taking on Gadzhi Rabadanov in the lightweight semi-finals of the PFL playoffs at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida this Friday. It is a massive opportunity as the winner will advance to the finals, where they will compete for the 2024 PFL lightweight world championship and $1 million grand prize.

In a recent video uploaded to the PFL's YouTube channel, the former two-division UFC champion described what 'The Canadian Bada**' was like to train with. St-Pierre heaped praise on Dufort for being receptive to him and mentioned that he is a motivated fighter with plenty of potential in the PFL. He said:

"[Dufort] is a very young, talented, hungry fighter who works really really hard...[Dufort] is like a sponge. You know, I show him something once and immediately after in sparring he's able to duplicate it and do it. It's a real gift." [2:22 - 2:47]

Georges St-Pierre explains what motivates him to help the next generation of Canadian fighters

Georges St-Pierre is widely regarded as the greatest Canadian MMA fighter of all time as he achieved a great deal of success during his Hall of Fame career. Since retiring, 'Rush' has devoted his time to working with the next generation of Canadian fighters and helping them with their aspirations.

During the aforementioned video, St-Pierre explained what motivates him to work with fighters like Michael Dufort and mentioned that he was to help push them to succeed. He said:

"My goal as a veteran and retired fighter is to encourage and try to push the new generation...Perhaps one day, one guy will even be better than me. That's the goal, you know, the records are meant to be broken...I teach them everything I know, help them 100% and my goal is to make them better than I was." [2:53 - 3:21]
