Just days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the presidential election and endorsed Donald Trump, Tulsi Gabbard joined him in voicing her support for the former president. Gabbard, a 2020 presidential candidate, announced her public endorsement on Aug. 26.

As a former Democratic US Representative, Gabbard endorsed Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 presidential election after withdrawing from the race. However, four years later, she no longer considers herself a Democrat and is backing Trump in light of her ongoing feud with Kamala Harris.

Shortly after Gabbard's announcement, retired UFC fighter and former Bellator champion Ben Askren commented on the decision, saying he "loves" that everyone he supports is, "on the same team."

Askren's tweet read:

"Tulsi just endorsed Trump too. I freaking love that all of the people I like are joining the same team!!! Let's go Freedom"

While Gabbard is no longer in office, she remains one of the most influential politicians in the United States. The 43-year-old previously served as the US Representative from Hawaii's Second Congressional district from 2013 to 2021.

Ben Askren's life after retiring from the UFC

Ben Askren is no longer an active UFC fighter but has remained a relevant part of the MMA world with his contributions to Daniel Cormier's YouTube channel. 'DC' typically releases a video with Askren on his YouTube channel roughly once a week.

Aside from his contributions to Cormier's YouTube page, Askren has continued to stay involved with the American wrestling community. Before transitioning to MMA, 'Funky' was a former NCAA Division I national champion with multiple Dan Hodge Trophy awards and competed at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

While Askren is no longer an athlete, he continues to coach and host seminars in his free time. The 40-year-old also actively puts out his political opinions, often posting his thoughts on social media.
