Dana White has shared a picture of Khalil Rountree Jr. following the light heavyweight's grueling title showdown against Alex Pereira. The close-up photo showed the damage that Rountree Jr. sustained to his face.

A veteran Muay Thai practitioner, Rountree Jr. faced UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira for the title in the headlining match of UFC 307 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Oct. 5. The fight was primarily contested in the stand-up department, with both striking savants showcasing a vast array of techniques on the feet.

Pereira, a former Glory kickboxing middleweight and light heavyweight champion and a former UFC middleweight champion, was lauded for showcasing veteran savvy by dragging the matchup into deep waters. Ultimately, 'Poatan' stopped Rountree Jr. via fourth-round TKO with a barrage of strikes against the fence.

UFC CEO White subsequently took to his Instagram stories and posted a close-up image of Rountree Jr.'s facial damage after the fight. The fighter had one eye swollen shut and multiple cuts and bruises on his bleeding face.

White tagged Rountree Jr. in the image and captioned it with a three-word message:

"Absolute f**kin STUD @khalilrountree"

In the aftermath of UFC 307, Alex Pereira seemed to rule out a middleweight comeback for now but was open to his long-awaited heavyweight move. Pereira also suggested that he's likelier to keep defending his light heavyweight throne.

Meanwhile, during his post-fight octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Khalil Rountree Jr. expressed his gratefulness for the title shot and thanked the fans in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also promised to return there to fight again.

'The War Horse', who was noticeably bleeding from his nose, was given an ovation from the fans in attendance. It's currently unclear as to whom he'll face next.

During Dana White's UFC 307 post-event press conference segment, he praised both light heavyweights for going to war in the main event. A reporter notably drew attention to White's knuckles and asked him whether he'd been training and hitting some pads.

He responded by looking at his hands and indicating that the blood on him likely came from Rountree Jr.:

"No. Do I look busted? Oh, Jesus Christ! No. That's from Khalil. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't even see that. It's definitely not from me. I've been cold-plunging, not hitting anything, believe me. I'm too old to be hitting anything."
