Dana White discusses plans for Noche UFC at Las Vegas Sphere for Mexican Independence Day: "Main event will be the future of Mexico"

Dana White recently opened up about the upcoming UFC Noche event at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Sept. 14 and discussed some of the current plans for the event. He has noted that the event will be a one-and-done on several occasions and plans to make it his love letter to Mexico on their Independence Day.

Aside from the fight card, there hadn't been too much disclosed regarding how the promotion plans to use the venue. The UFC CEO discussed some of the plans for the first time, which will make for quite a unique viewing experience for fans in attendance and those watching on pay-per-view.

During his appearance on today's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the UFC CEO brought up that each fight on the card will have a particular theme that pays homage to the history of combat sports in Mexico. White mentioned that each fight beginning from the opening bout to the main event will have a historical significance to it. He said:

"When the show starts, we're gonna have the prelims. And then, we're gonna tell throughout the rest of the night the history of combat in Mexico. From the beginning of time and into the future. So the first fight of the night will start at the beginning of time. The main event will be the future of Mexico. That's the first time I've ever talked about this."

In addition to disclosing some of the plans for how the Sphere will be utilized for UFC Noche, White promised an unforgettable event for fans.

The event will feature several fan-favorite Mexican fighters and will be headlined by two title fights including Sean O'Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili and the trilogy bout between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko. During the aforementioned appearance, White mentioned that even if a fan isn't fully Mexican, they will be astonished once it is over. He said:

"Listen, we have to execute...If you are even are [small percentage] Mexican, you are going to love this event on Mexican Independence Day at the Sphere. I guarantee you, it's so bada**." [1:56:20 - 1:56:34]
