Dan Henderson is one of the most legendary names in MMA history. While UFC championship gold eluded 'Hendo' during his career, he is widely regarded as the first simultaneous two-division champion in a major MMA promotion, having once held the PRIDE welterweight and middleweight titles.

Henderson began his career as a wrestler, relying on his Olympic-level wrestling skills, before discovering the nuclear power in his fists. In particular, his right hand became a legendary weapon, which led to countless historic knockouts. Thus, it is only sensible for him to release a book chronicling his life as an athlete.

He took to X/Twitter to announce the release of his book, 'Hendo: The American Athlete.' This drew a comical reaction from a fan, who jokingly claimed that MMA fans can't read. Dan Henderson, however, was quick with a reply, stating that the book has pictures.

Henderson's career was full of memorable moments, such as his thunderous knockout over Michael Bisping at UFC 100. The consistent success he enjoyed with his overhand right led to it being affectionately referred to as the 'H-bomb' by MMA fans.

Despite his best efforts, Dan Henderson never became a UFC champion, but challenged for a title in the promotion three separate times. His first crack at UFC gold came against Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson in the light heavyweight division. He subsequently lost to Anderson Silva in a middleweight title fight.

It would be eight years before Henderson was granted another title shot, which was another crack at the 185-pound strap. This time, however, it was against longtime rival Michael Bisping, with the bount ending in a unanimous decision in Bisping's favor.

Dan Henderson's time at Strikeforce

Despite never capturing UFC gold, Dan Henderson has found championship success in most of the organizations he has been a part of. He is best-known for achieving two-division champion status under the PRIDE banner, when the Japanese promotion was widely believed to house the world's best fighters.

Henderson also became a champion in Strikeforce, which once boasted countless elite fighters like Luke Rockhold, Alistair Overeem and Fedor Emelianenko. During his time with Strikeforce, 'Hendo' became its light heavyweight champion and even scored a knockout over Emelianenko.
