Conor McGregor was quite succinct in his recent assessment of the biggest threat his home country will face in the future. The root of this stemmed from a separate thread on X that began with a Crime and Defence Editor for outlets like Irish Mirror, Michael O'Toole.

He reported that Ireland's National Police and Security Service had seized a hundred thousand pounds in a series of searches that came from suspected financing of an overseas Islamic militant group. The O'Toole tweet also mentioned how this was found across three searches with no arrests made as of the writing of said post.

X user @DamhlaicMac responded to that tweet by stating:

Conor McGregor's future goals in Irish politics

Conor McGregor offering up socio-political commentary on his home country is not something out of the norm at all. In fact, the former champ-champ has indicated a defined interest in one day becoming the president of Ireland.

McGregor discussed how he intends to do right by the common people and subvert those at the top of the hierarchy that he sees as undesirables.

Thieves of the working man, disruptors of the family unit, and destructors of small businesses was the operative wording McGregor used in the online address.

'The Notorious' mentioned he would rally against the charlatans in positions of power and stated how he could sort out the majority of all relevant issues by the end of that given day. McGregor touted himself as the only logical choice for this position and wrapped things up by saying Ireland needs an active president.

The Dublin native has been out of the cage for a few years after a leg injury in his Dustin Poirier trilogy bout. Some wonder if he will ever return to competition. One wonders if it's more likely to expect Conor McGregor inside the octagon in 2025 or make a run at the Irish presidency in the next calendar year.
