After losing his UFC bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, Sean O’Malley is enjoying a break, but that hasn’t stopped the banter with Conor McGregor. The two fighters have exchanged words in the past, but McGregor recently softened his stance.

During a live stream, McGregor commented on O'Malley's defeat, expressing interest in seeing his return.

O’Malley responded to McGregor’s remarks on the 'Join The Lobby' podcast, acknowledging McGregor’s influence on his career. He noted that while McGregor isn’t his main inspiration right now, he still respects the former two-division UFC champion:

“He [Conor McGregor] played an important role in my career. It’s always will be inspiration to me at some point… Right now I wouldn’t say he necessarily is… He has a big family now, a bunch of kids, and I hope he’s doing well.”

The Irishman, however, had more to say. In a now-deleted post on X, McGregor praised O'Malley and made a surprising offer. He proposed that O'Malley and his coach, Tim Welch, train for a month at SBG Ireland under coach John Kavanagh.

McGregor emphasized that this stint could help O’Malley regain his UFC title:

“Sean is a fighting legend! UFC champion and an incredible superstar! I would love, love, love to see, and I can set it up fully, himself and his long time coach, Tim Welch, do a stint in Ireland. A 4 week run at SBG Ireland under Johns coaching and I am telling you he would regain his title.”

Conor McGregor blasts Belal Muhammad while expressing frustration over UFC comeback

Conor McGregor took to social media earlier today to express his frustration following the cancellation of his UFC 303 fight, launching a tirade against UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.

McGregor has remained on the sidelines for over three years due to a string of injuries and delays. He withdrew from his June 29 scheduled bout with Michael Chandler due to a toe injury. Despite his recovery, the Irish star has yet to secure a return date to the octagon.

His ire was ignited when a fan shared a clip of Muhammad on social media, prompting McGregor to criticize the champion's lack of knockdowns throughout his career. Taking to X, McGregor claimed he would easily defeat Muhammad, stating:

"I'd love to crush my left hook into Belal's temple and take down the triple crown. I'd do it easily and fast. I'd cave his skull heavy! The hurdles I face getting back to the octagon are just harrowing. I'm so sad over my June 29th fight cancellation."

He added:

"To think this bum is now a UFC champion with zero knockdowns on his resume whatsoever is so bad. The UFC's most abysmal zero-revenue-generating fighter in modern history."
