Colby Covington recently took a dig at reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. Covington also discussed how a potential fight with Muhammad would unfold.

Covington, a three-time title challenger and former interim champion, was consistently around the top of the UFC welterweight rankings. After defeating his friend-turned-foe Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 272, the 36-year-old waited almost a year for another title fight, which finally came this past December.

At UFC 296, 'Chaos' lost to the then-champion Leon Edwards by unanimous decision in his third attempt to capture the 170-pound undisputed title.

Now that his injured foot has healed, Covington is gearing up for his return to the octagon. There were talks of him fighting welterweight prospect Ian Garry, owing to trash talk on social media between the pair. However, their fight did not take place, and now it looks like the Californian-born fighter is focused on Muhammad.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Covington discussed facing Muhammad in a potential fight:

''You know, the guy's [Muhammad] a fu**ing pu**y. The only time that Belal, the racist juice monkey, wanted to fight me was when I only already had a title fight signed sealed and delivered. That's the only time he wanted to fight me. Otherwise, he's never said my name because he knows he's a little bi*ch and he knows what I would do to him. He's a pu**y.''

Convington also gave his take on how the Muhammad fight would play out, saying:

''If I pass with him, he won't be champion anymore, he won't be a man anymore. I will take his man card and we know he's still a virgin.''

There isn't any official confirmation about Covington's return or his next opponent. Meanwhile, Muhammad recently defeated Edwards at UFC 304 this past weekend and became the new welterweight champion.

Belal Muhammad dismisses Colby Covington's callout

Before getting a shot at the title, Belal Muhammad constantly called out the best fighters in the welterweight division and Colby Covington was always at the top of his list.

Muhammad feels that by turning down Covington's request to face him, he is now repaying the favor after years of being disregarded for his request for the fight. In an interview with MMA Fighting, he stated:

''That was honestly the funniest thing. I’m not even going to bring attention to it because then I’m going to have a back-and-forth with him. This guy’s a joke now. He understands he’s a joke now. So he’s trying to go out there and call out these bigger names now.'' [H/t: MMA Fighting]
