Fans recently expressed their thoughts on Alex Pereira sparring with Sean Strickland before his title fight at UFC 307. While some made fun of Strickland over having a knack for aggression while sparring, others were impressed with their commitment throughout training.

Pereira is set to compete for the third time this year as he defends his light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307. The reigning champion previously posted a video on his YouTube channel, announcing the start of his training camp for his title fight in Salt Lake City.

The Brazilian then declared that Strickland, with whom he had developed a strong friendship after their fight at UFC 276, would join him at his training camp to assist him in his upcoming fight.

Following that, Strickland shared on social media that he had arrived at Pereira's training camp. Championship Rounds then shared a video of the two sparring lightly on X.

One fan took a dig at Strickland, citing his sparring against streamer Sneako earlier this year, writing:

''Bro didn’t spar this light with Sneako, tho''

Another fan pointed out Strickland's composure while sparring:

''Think that's the lightest I've ever seen Sean spar. Dude's not trying to f**k up his fight next week.''

Other fans wrote:

''They both have such unusual guards, shows that you just have to find what works for you.''
''So funny to watch Sean spar people he knows will f**k him up, whole different person''

Their friendship is unique because Pereira and Strickland began as rivals, with 'Poatan' ruthlessly knocking out 'Tarzan' at UFC 276 in 2022. Despite this, the 33-year-old took a surprising step and began training with Pereira, who ultimately assisted him in winning the UFC middleweight title last year.

John Wood promises to make Alex Pereira wrestle at UFC 307

Khalil Rountree Jr.'s coach John Wood asserted in a recent interview with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier that although his team had been working on takedown defenses, Alex Pereira would still end up wrestling first out of the two.

''We do MMA, we don't just train to go and expect this or this that, we're always defending takedowns, shooting out own takedowns, we’re doing everything everyday but I do stand and say that if a takedown happens, it ain’t coming from our side, it’s coming from that side.''
