"Chama ou nao chama?"

When translated, the caption reads "chama or no chama?" and may be a hint at 'Poatan's' next outing inside the UFC octagon.

Expectedly, the comment section was filled with fans eagerly speculating on what this could all mean for the Brazilian knockout artist.

Alex Pereira and short-notice UFC fights this year

Alex Pereira taking another short-notice UFC fight is a valid inference to make when the UFC's 205-pound king is posting things like this on social media. After all, the only man to have captured middleweight and light heavyweight gold in the promotion has fought on short notice not just once but twice in 2024.

The 37-year-old made his first walk to the octagon on a tight timeline at UFC 300 in April. In the headline attraction of such a massive card for the company, Pereira came through in highlight-reel fashion despite not having ample time to prepare for the matchup.

He knocked out former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill in the opening round of their matchup to notch the first defense of his championship.

'Poatan' accepted his second short-notice bout of the calendar year when he ran it back for a rematch against the man he initially beat to win the title. Pereira clashed against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 on June 29. This came about after the initial main event of Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fell out when the former suffered a toe injury.

Alex Pereira made the second defense of his 205-pound title by ending it in the second stanza after connecting on a head kick and follow-up punches on former UFC light heavyweight champion Prochazka.
