History was created on Friday as the Pro Kabaddi League bore witness to three back-to-back tied games in a span of two days, providing unbounded entertainment for fans and pundits alike.

With the league slowly gaining momentum toward the mid-stage, some top-class kabaddi ensured that three consecutive matches saw no single winner as teams fought neck to neck in order to ensure that the opposition was never off the hook at any point in time.

On the 7th of September 2017 at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, the hosts Bengal Warriors could not outsmart Dabang Delhi as the two teams fought tooth and nail and the match ended in a thrilling tie.

For the hosts, Maninder Singh was at his aggressive best, picking up 13 raid points but no one else could really contribute significantly towards the Bengal scoreline while for Delhi, it was a team effort with Anand Patil, Rohit Baliyan and Meraj Sheykh having a good day at the office as the match ended with the teams tied on 31 apiece.

Double dhamaka on the opening day in Sonepat

As the caravan shifted to Sonepat, the Haryana Steelers faced off against Patna Pirates and the match was set to produce fireworks with the quality on both sides. The Steelers' raiders enjoyed a good time on the mat with the trio of Prashant Kumar Rai, Wazir Singh and Surjeet Singh combining to pick 26 points while the corners Nada and Chhillar picked nine points.

However, the duo could not stop the rampaging raiding duo of Pardeep and Monu to much effect as both Pardeep and Monu earned super-10s to their name. In the end, after dealing blow after blow, a Prashant Rai empty raid signalled the end of the game that ended in a riveting 41-41 tied game.

After a thrilling tied game, the Gujarat Fortunegiants and UP Yoddha took to the mat. The Fortunegiants were just coming off a loss while UP needed a win after a tied game against the Bengal Warriors.

For Gujarat, skipper Sukesh Hegde looked in fine touch, who camouflaged the surprisingly poor performance of Sachin. At the halfway stage, the Yoddha enjoyed a slender two-point lead but the Gujarat men denied the Yoddha from running away with the game.

Useful substitutions in the form of Pawan Sehrawat did them good as the youngster displayed great grit to pick three points while Chandran Renjith picked four. For the Yoddha, skipper Tomar was yet again in the thick of things with eight points while Rishank Devadiga's six points and super-5s from Jeeva Kumar and Nitesh Kumar did not let the Gujarat raiders off the cuff. As the final whistle was blown, members from both teams managed a smirk on their faces as history was created with a hat-trick of tied games in a single season.
