As the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) returns for its 11th season, the upcoming auction on August 15 and 16 in Mumbai is set to be a thrilling event. With all 12 teams looking to bolster their squads, the spotlight will be on all-rounders - players who bring versatility to both attack and defense.

All-rounders play a crucial role in shaping the dynamics of a team, often turning the tide of a match with their dual abilities. This year, the auction is likely to see fierce bidding wars for some of the top all-rounders who can provide the perfect balance between raiding and tackling.

Among the numerous talents available, three all-rounders stand out for their potential to fetch the highest bids: Mohammadreza Shadloui, Mohammad Nabibakhsh and Nitin Rawal. Each of these players has made a significant impact in previous seasons, and despite some challenges in the last edition, their overall experience and skills make them highly sought-after assets.

Teams will be eager to add these dynamic players to their rosters, knowing that their inclusion could be the key to a successful campaign in the Pro Kabaddi League 2024. Here is a closer look at these three all-rounders who could attract high bids in this year's auction.

#3 Mohammad Nabibakhsh

Despite a disappointing outing in Season 10, Mohammad Nabibakhsh remains one of the most experienced and versatile all-rounders in the Pro Kabaddi League. Last season, playing for Gujarat Giants, Nabibakhsh managed only 12 raid points and 16 tackle points, leading to his release.

However, his overall record in the league cannot be overlooked. Nabibakhsh has played 79 PKL matches, accumulating 215 raid points and 79 tackle points. His experience and ability to contribute in both attack and defense make him a valuable asset for any team.

While his recent form may have been below par, teams will likely consider his vast experience and the balance he brings to the side. Nabibakhsh’s ability to perform under pressure and his all-round capabilities could see him attracting significant attention during the auction.

#2 Nitin Rawal

Nitin Rawal is another all-rounder who could see high bids at the PKL 2024 auction. The experienced player was recovering from a knee injury at the start of Season 10, which unfortunately led to him being ruled out and subsequently released by Bengal Warriorz ahead of Season 11.

Despite this setback, Rawal’s performance in previous seasons has been impressive. Over 81 Pro Kabaddi matches, he has scored 142 raid points and 94 tackle points, demonstrating his ability to contribute effectively in both aspects of the game.

As teams look to strengthen their squads with proven Indian talent, Rawal’s name is likely to be high on their list. His ability to perform consistently and his dual-threat capabilities make him a valuable addition to any team. With his experience, Rawal is expected to draw significant interest during the auction, potentially leading to a bidding war among teams eager to secure his services.

#1 Md. Reza Shadloui

In Pro Kabaddi Season 10, Mohammadreza Shadloui was nothing short of phenomenal. The star defender was at the peak of his form, amassing an impressive 99 tackle points, averaging 4.12 tackle points per match, and securing 11 High 5s. His extraordinary performance was instrumental in helping Puneri Paltan clinch their first-ever Pro Kabaddi title.

Despite his critical role in their success, Puneri Paltan made the surprising decision to release Shadloui ahead of the PKL 11 auction. He was one of the most expensive players in the previous auction, bought for a whopping ₹2.31 crore. Shadloui’s all-round skills were on display last season as he also contributed 27 raid points, bringing his total to 126 points.

Given his stellar performance and the impact he had on his team, Shadloui is expected to be one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming auction. There is a strong possibility that he could break his own bid record from last season. Shadloui’s ability to dominate in both defense and attack makes him a prime candidate for the highest bids.
