Kashi Kings, Lucknow Lions, Sangam Challengers, and Brij Stars won on the eighth day of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPL) 2024, Thursday, July 18.
Lucknow Lions defeated Yamuna Yodhas 34-31 to solidify their top spot with eight wins in a row. Arjun Deshwal, who is currently the most successful raider in the UPKL 2024, scored 13 raid points, including one super raid, for the Lions while Nitin Panwar bagged a High-Five.
Vinay led the raiding department with nine points for the Yamuna Yodhas against the Lucknow Lions. They remain in second position with 27 points from five wins in eight games and a score difference of 11.
Sangam Challengers also hold their third position following their victory over Ganga Kings of Mirzapur (37-36). Bhanu Pratap Tomor scored a Super 10 while Nikhil Chaudhary and Tushar earned seven raid points each.
Kashi Kings moved from sixth to fourth after beating Noida Ninjas 42-22. All-rounder Uday Dabas claimed a Super 10 while defenders Sahul Kumar and Harendra Kumar secured nine tackle points each.
Awadh Ramdoots dropped from fourth to fifth following their narrow loss against Brij Stars (35-36) in the last game. Abhishek Singh earned 10 points while Rachit Yadav bagged nine. Defenders Ashu Singh and Ashish Nagar executed three successful tackles each.
Noida Ninjas slipped to sixth position with three wins and five losses. Kashi Kings defeated them in the previous match by a heavy margin. Arjun Sirohi scored five raid points while Ravi completed four fine tackles.
Brij Stars and Ganga Kings of Mirzapur are languishing at the bottom of the UPL 2024 points table. Brij won their last game against Awadh while Mirzapur lost to the Challengers.
