Lucknow Lions will be one among the eight teams competing in the inaugural edition of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL 2024).
The Lions, led by Arjun Deshwal boasts a formidable squad. The Jaipur Pink Panthers player will be joined by PKL players, such as Arpit Saroha, Nitin Panwar, and Vishav Chaudhary.
Arjun made his PKL debut with U Mumba in Season 6 and served the club for a couple of seasons before joining the Pink Panthers. In three seasons with the Jaipur Pink Panthers, Arjun Deshwal raked up 268 points, 296 points, and 278 points, respectively.
Overall, Arjun Deshwal has earned 952 points (947 raid points and five tackle points) across six seasons in the Pro Kabaddi League. The Indian kabaddi star has been in red-hot form for the past few seasons and will look to replicate his success in the inaugural season of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League in Noida.
Defender Arpit Saroha made his PKL debut with Tamil Thaliavas in 2022. In his maiden season, he scored 14 points from eight outings. Last season, he made three appearances for Patna Pirates, but failed to pick up a single point.
Meanwhile, Nitin Panwar has been part of the UP Yoddhas squad for the last three seasons. He joined the club ahead of PKL Season 8 and has played 15 matches across three seasons. The Indian all-rounder has bagged 19 points thus far in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Vishav Chaudhary, on the other hand, has also played in the Pro Kabaddi League for Gujarat Giants.
