The Patna Pirates have signed Arkam Shaikh for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 season. The Pirates announced the addition of the versatile all-rounder to their squad on Tuesday, October 15, via their social media handles.

Arkam, who went unsold in the PKL 11 auction held in August in Mumbai, has been part of the PKL ecosystem since Season 6. He initially joined UP Yoddhas but did not get the opportunity on the mat during his two seasons with the team. Following his stint with UP Yoddhas, Arkam went unsold in Season 8.

His fortunes changed in Season 9 when he was picked up by Gujarat Giants, where he played at the left cover position. Akram delivered a decent performance, scoring 37 tackle points in 22 games to display his potential as a solid defensive option. However, his form dipped in Season 10, where he could only manage six tackle points in nine games for the Giants.

Now, in PKL 11, despite going unsold initially, Patna Pirates have given Akram Shaikh another opportunity to prove his worth on the mat. As an all-rounder, he will hope to make an impact if given a chance to step up and contribute to the Pirates' campaign this season.

The PKL 11 season kicks off on Friday, October 18, with the Patna Pirates set to begin their campaign on Monday, October 21, against defending champions Puneri Paltan. This season presents a fresh chance for Arkam Shaikh to revitalize his career and make his mark in the league.
