Indian national kabaddi team skipper Pawan Sehrawat scripted history after becoming the first player to get more than INR 1.5 Crore in three consecutive PKL Auctions. At the PKL 2024 Auction, he was roped in by Telugu Titans via the FBM for INR 1.725 Crore.

Earlier in the PKL 2022 Auction, Tamil Thalaivas bagged the services of the hi-flyer for a whopping price of INR 2.26 Crore, making him the then-most expensive player in PKL Auction history.

However, Pawan Sehrawat missed out on the PKL 9 after suffering a knee injury in the first match of the campaign. Thus, he was released by the Tamil Thalaivas after the completion of the season.

With the star raider moving back to the auction, Telugu Titans roped in the Delhi-born raider for an exceptional price of INR 2.625 Crore. Thus, Pawan Sehrawat emerged as the most expensive player in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Pawan Sehrawat’s PKL journey

The Hi-Flyer made his PKL debut for the Bengaluru Bulls in the third season of the Pro Kabaddi League. He played a total of 13 games in that season, finishing as the team’s leading raid-point scorer with 45 points.

He continued to be with the Bulls in the fourth season, scoring only 11 points from 33 raids, thus being released by the Bulls. Later, he was picked up by the Gujarat Giants for the fifth season, using him as an impact raider off the bench. He played nine matches, scoring 10 points.

However, his breakthrough season came with the Bengaluru Bulls in the sixth edition. He accumulated 282 points with 13 Super 10s, propelling the Bulls to their maiden title victory. He was also crowned as the MVP.

In the seventh season, he led the Bulls to their second consecutive playoffs, finishing the campaign with 353 points. Later in the eighth season, he emerged as the most successful raider, scoring 320 points. In an interesting turn of events, the Bulls released Pawan Sehrawat and couldn’t get his services in the PKL 9 Auction. Subsequently, he joined the Tamil Thalaivas.
