Naveen Kumar, the star raider for Dabang Delhi KC, has been a cornerstone of the team’s achievements over the last five years. Renowned for his agility, speed, and strategic brilliance on the kabaddi mat, Naveen’s contributions have been pivotal in establishing Dabang Delhi KC as a formidable force in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). His journey is a remarkable story of resilience and skill that reflects his strong dedication to the sport.

In addition to his role with Dabang Delhi KC, Naveen Kumar serves in the Indian Air Force as a Junior Warrant Officer. The upcoming PKL auction, scheduled on India’s 78th Independence Day, holds special significance for him.

Naveen Kumar on being retained by Dabang Delhi KC and his injury

Reflecting on his retention by Dabang Delhi KC for the upcoming PKL Season 11, Naveen Kumar shared his excitement.

“I am super excited to have been retained by Dabang Delhi KC. I have been with them from Season 6, and I am looking forward to Season 11 with them," he stated.

His enthusiasm displays the strong bond he shares with the franchise, having been an integral part of the team.

Naveen’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. He missed a significant portion of the last season due to a knee injury, which required surgical intervention.

Providing an update on his recovery, Naveen said:

“My recovery process is going well. I had a couple of surgeries in Mumbai, and after a few months, I started practising slowly and steadily. It's going to be a slow process, but I will be ready before the next season starts.”

The PKL Season 11 Player Auction, set to take place from August 15-16, 2024, in Mumbai, promises to be an exciting event. Dabang Delhi KC have announced the retention of their dynamic raiding duo, Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar, further solidifying their strategy for the upcoming season.

They finished third in the league stage in Season 10 and made the playoffs. However, they lost to Patna Pirates in the Eliminator.
