PKL 2024 Auction sets new record; eight players land ₹1Cr+ deals

12 franchises will compete in PKL 2024 season, with each team picking their complete squad at the recently concluded player auction in August in Mumbai. Interestingly, a total of eight players breached the INR 1 crore mark at the auction, setting a new record in PKL history.

Bengal Warriorz, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi KC, Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U Mumba, and UP Yoddhas are the 12 participating franchises this edition.

Puneri Paltan will enter the competition as the defending champions after defeating Haryana Steelers in last season’s grand finale 28-25. They are scheduled to take on the Haryana Steelers in their season opener on October 19.

On the other hand, Patna Pirates are the most successful franchise in the league’s history with three titles. They will begin their Pro Kabaddi 2024 campaign against Puneri Paltan in Match 8 of the competition on October 21.
