Jamshedpur FC winger Alen Stevanovic has left the club, as officially confirmed on Sunday, July 7. The 33-year-old joined the Red Miners from the Serbian outfit FK IMT Belgrade in July last year.

An immensely experienced campaigner, Stevanovic has played for clubs like Inter Milan, Torino FC, Palermo FC, SSC Bari, and FK Partizan Belgrade in his career. He has also represented Serbia in three matches. Apart from being a part of the victorious 2009-2010 Serie A-winning Inter Milan squad, he won the Serbian League title during his stint with FK Partizan Belgrade. The Serbian also clinched the Japanese League Cup while he was at Shonan Bellmare and the Canadian Cup title during his time with Toronto FC.

Alen Stevanovic featured in 18 matches for Jamshedpur FC last season. His only assist came during his side's 2024 Indian Super Cup fixture against Kerala Blasters FC in Bhubaneswar. Given his experience and proven credentials, Stevanovic's departure will be a major loss for Jamshedpur who need to rope in a perfect replacement for his position.

Jamshedpur FC finished 11th in the 2023-24 ISL

The 2023-24 season of the Indian Super League did not turn out as expected for the 2021-22 ISL League Shield Winners. A poor performance in the first leg of the 10th edition of the ISL forced the club management to replace Scott Cooper with Khalid Jamil at the helm.

In the former Indian international's first-ever assignment as the head coach, Jamshedpur FC reached the semifinals of the 2024 Indian Super Cup where they lost 2-0 against the eventual winners East Bengal FC. In the ISL though, they finished eleventh among twelve teams with 21 points from 22 matches. In the upcoming 2024-25 season of Indian football, which will be Khalid Jamil's first ever full-fledged season with them, the team will be hoping to turn their fortunes around.
