TNA Wrestling's 2024 has been a year of ups and downs, but no one can deny that the promotion is as strong as it's been in over a decade. The die-hard TNA fans have stayed by the company's side for better or worse, and 2024 has seen them hit quite a boom. At Slammiversary, they aimed to take advantage of their surging popularity, partly due to the NXTNA partnership.

Chris Bey and Ace Austin looked to finally dethrone The System and earn their third-ever tag team title reign. Speedball Mike Bailey aimed to tear the X-Division Championship away from the clutches of Mustafa Ali and put an end to his ridiculous campaign. Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace found herself across the ring from Ash By Elegance where the Total Diva aimed to win her first ever world championship. All that and more, plus the six-way elimination match for the TNA World Championship.

"Broken" Matt Hardy vs JDC

JDC attempted to take a shot at Matt Hardy as the multi-time TNA World Champion charged him. The Broken one ducked it, and took the fight to his rival, bouncing him around ringside and exclaiming, "I'm gonna kill him!" JDC managed to catch Hardy with the flag pole, however, as the referee aimed to pull the flag away.

Despite that cheap shot, Broken Matt managed to avoid JDC's Down and Dirty legdrop and plant him with a Side Effect. Another Down and Dirty attempt led to Hardy hitting the Twist of Fate, driving JDC's face down from the top rope. After the match, Hardy hit two more Twist of Fates, sending a message to JDC and The System. Revenge for Jeff Hardy and Reby, both of whom JDC had attacked.

"Broken" Matt Hardy defeats JDC via pinfall.

TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Championship: ABC vs The System's Eddie Edwards and Bryan Myers (c)

Ace Austin and Bryan Myers started this one off. When Eddie Edwards rushed in to save his partner, The Ace of Spades managed to get the best of the champions before tagging Chris Bey in for a double hip drop and dropkick combination. Myers ate a Hart Attack, though he kicked out at two.

The System would take over, battering Bey with strong clotheslines and knees. When they weren't hammering the Ultimate Finneser, Alisha Edwards was washing his face on the ropes. Bey escaped a double backdrop, ducking a double clothesline and tagging his partner in. This crowd was white hot for ABC for the majority of the match. The Hart Dynasty gear didn't hurt, either.

Alisha again interfered, setting up Edwards to take over when he dropped Ace face-first on the apron. Bey hyped the crowd up for a hot tag, but The System continuously cut it off. A disgusting assisted catapult nearly took Ace's head off as he was launched into the second rope by Edwards and Myers.

Myers distracted the referee just before Ace tagged out, again leaving him in no man's land as Bey was forced to watch from their corner. Austin finally gets to Bey after avoiding a Roster Cut and rocking Myers with a beautiful springboard roundhouse.

We saw ABC fight The System on the apron, leading to an incredible moment where Ace flipped over Bryan, sending him directly into Bey's clutches for a cutter. By this point, the "This is awesome" chants were ringing out of the sold-out crowd. ABC broke away from The System Overload, sending Edwards to the floor and planting Myers with the Magic Killer. Alisha Edwards tried to stop the Art of Finesse but was caught in it instead (kind of).

After that, the Art of Finesse and the Fold wrapped it up for ABC, making them three-time TNA Tag Team Champions.

ABC defeated The System via pinfall.

Jake Something vs Mike Santana

While most of the matches on this card revolved around grudges and championships, this was just one of those matches to prove who was better. Both incredibly underrated talents, Jake Something and Mike Santana started out by trying to outdo one another. First by trading shots, then both hitting some exciting dives on the floor.

Once we got to the ring, it was all about Mike Santana weathering the destructive storm that was Jake Something—big slams, massive clubbing blows, and a tackle that would level an all-star NFL running back. As Santana withstood the pain and punishment, commentary went over the recent struggles of Santana, especially touching on his sobriety and the importance of his family.

Santana caught Jake with a leaping enziguri in the corner and followed with the Rolling Buck 50, but couldn't secure the win. Jake blocked another Rolling Buck 50 but was planted with Outlined in Chalk. A missile dropkick and cannonball in the corner earned Santana another close call. These big shots were finally starting to wear Jake down.

Jake managed to counter another cannonball senton, catching Santana and deadlifting him for a cataclysmic sit-out powerbomb. As Jake went up for a top rope dive, Santana followed and spiked him high on his neck with a nasty avalanche German suplex.

The monster that was Jake Something refused to die, and put out a good effort. Unfortunately, though, the Spin the Block discus lariat was too much. Would've been nice to see this go a bit longer, but these two had a fun one. Definitely a match to revisit in a few months.

Mike Santana defeats Jake Something via pinfall.

No Quarter Catch Crew vs The Rascalz

In what's been one of the most exciting partnerships in wrestling, TNA has found themselves putting their best and brightest against WWE's NXT brand. We recently saw Wes Lee reunite with his Rascalz partners Zach Wentz and Trey Miguel, a moment that left fans on both sides weeping tears of joy. Considering the positive reaction, it was no surprise that we got a full Rascalz reunion at Slammiversary.

Matthew Rehwoldt reminded us that No Quarter Catch Crew leader Charlie Dempsey was the star to cross the line and strike first on TNA soil. The action fired up once Dempsey and Wes Lee got in the ring, with former North American Champion Lee getting the best of the second-generation star early.

Zachary Wentz and Tavion Heights were next, and Heights had a clear power advantage over everyone in this ring. Heights caught a hurricanrana attempt and launched Wentz sky high before taking him overhead with a gut wrench suplex. Commentary made sure to go into Heights' amateur and Olympic accolades.

Tom Hannifan gives us a brief recap of Charlie Dempsey eliminating "somebody" from NXT and dumping them in a car trunk, telling Rehwoldt, "You remember that parking lot. It was Hell on Earth."

Dempsey tagged back in, and it seemed that Miguel's speed was too much for him. Thankfully for Dempsey, Heights distracted the ref and allowed Borne to launch Miguel into Dempsey's suplex. Dempsey and NQCC took over here, slowing everything down and working over Miguel with submissions and stiff shots.

After minutes of agony, Miguel dodged a big lariat from Heights and got to Wes, who took on the No Quarter Catch Crew all on his own. The Cardiac Kid pelted each member with a series of kicks, finishing that fiery display with a spinning DDT on Dempsey for a near fall.

Heights caught Lee out of mid-air as he went for the Cardiac Kick. Lee managed to kick out after a devastating three-man combination and escaped their clutches to get back to Trey.

In the end, The Rascalz dropped Heights with Soup Kitchen, and Trey Miguel dove onto the rest of the NQCC as Wes and Wentz hit Hot Fire Flame. A really fun match between one of the best trios in TNA history and a young, exciting NXT group.

The Rascalz defeat No Quarter Catch Crew via pinfall.

Montreal Street Fight for the TNA Digital Media Championship & International Heavyweight Wrestling Championship: PCO vs AJ Francis (c)

After AJ Francis's entrance, we see that they've already taken PCO out in the back. Before the ref could raise his hand in victory, though, we see D Destro (the man who "created" PCO) and several minions resuscitate PCO with electricity. With that, the match is underway.

Francis attacked PCO with a chair mid-entrance, but PCO shrugged it off and sent the Digital Media Champion to the floor. He followed with a flying senton through the ropes as well as a Deanimator. As Rich Swann tried to bring Francis to his feet, PCO took them both down with the PCOsault. A distraction from Swann allowed them to get a few tables up, though PCO was barely off his feet for more than a few seconds.

A trashcan crashed into PCO, molding to the shape of the French-Canadian Frankenstein's skull. Francis and Swann launched about a dozen chairs, and another trash can for good measure, into the ring. With the can around PCO's upper body, Francis swung away with a steel chair.

Despite all that, PCO took the fight to Dolla and went for a PCOsault again. Francis took him off the top with an electric chair drop to a pile of chairs. Again, PCO kicked out. As Francis climbed the turnbuckle, it was PCO's turn to launch the Digital Media Champion off. Francis was launched into the two tables set up at ringside.

Francis's muscle Josh Bishop battered PCO with a chair and dropped him on a pair with a Razor's Edge. Sami Callihan came down to ringside at this point, but his former friend Rich Swann stole his bat and cracked the Callihan Death Machine in the ribs. Before the former TNA World Champion could bust Callihan's skull open like a pumpkin, Rhino rushed the ring and Gored Swann into next week.

PCO rolled Francis inside for the PCOsault, a chokeslam into the chairs, and a final PCOsault to bring two belts home to his woman, and as of Slammiversary, his fiance Steph De Lander.

PCO defeats AJ Francis via pinfall.

TNA Knockouts World Championship: Ash by Elegance vs Jordynne Grace (c)

This was the first shot at a major world championship for Ash By Elegance. Originally her Personal Concierge George Iceman was at ringside, but he was chased away at knifepoint by former TNA Knockouts World Champion Rosemary after trying to interfere.

Jordynne Grace tossed Ash to the floor for a wrecking ball dropkick, but the Total Diva caught her, slamming her spine onto the floor. The challenger kept up the pressure on the back with a backstabber. Grace took back over with a few slams and nearly got the win with Shades of Samoa.

Ash broke away from a Juggernaut Driver and spiked the champion with a tilt-a-whirl DDT. Grace chased Ash to the top for a stalling superplex into a Jackhammer, but still couldn't put her away. As she went for the Juggernaut Driver again, Ash countered with Stundog Millionaire and hit a Canadian Destroyer.

Jordynne got her knees up just in time to block Rarified Air and chased Ash up to stop a second attempt where the challenger took Grace down with an avalanche Sliced Bread No. 2.

Ash avoided the Vertebreaker, but was spiked with a nasty powerbomb that dazed her long enough for Grace to finish things with the Juggernaut Driver. Another great TNA Knockouts World Title defense for Jordynne Grace, and a strong showing for Ash by Elegance.

Jordynne Grace defeats Ash By Elegance via pinfall.

TNA X-Division Championship: Speedball Mike Bailey vs Mustafa Ali (c)

Speedball Mike Bailey has already held the TNA X-Division Title before, but it's been about two years since he last touched it. He'd have to bring his best against Mustafa Ali and the "Make the X-Division Great Again" campaign. Campaign Singh and Ali's riot squad patrolled ringside as these two kicked things off.

Ali mocked Speedball's style with an X-Pac style crane kick motion and taunt, leading to Bailey ravaging the champion with a series of kicks. Bailey sent him to the floor for a hurricanrana through the ropes and a springboard moonsault from the inside middle rope. The challenger planted a kiss on his partner Veda Scott before squaring off with the champ's secret service, giving Ali time to recover and hit a diving tornado DDT on the floor.

Inside, Ali followed with his patented slingshot rolling neckbreaker to earn a two-count. Ali slowed things down a bit, doing his best to keep Speedball from...well...picking up speed. A gory special into a spinning facebuster got a big "Wow" from the pro-Speedball crowd.

Bailey avoided the 450 Splash and caught the champion out of mid-air with a sick thrust kick to the jaw, and began to fire up. A falcon arrow connected, as did a Shooting Star Press, but Ali kicked out.

A Spanish Fly to the floor took out Mustafa Ali's entire entourage. After a back and forth in the ring, Ali went for a baseball slide to Speedball on the apron, but the challenger jumped up to the second rope for a perfectly timed springboard moonsault. Back inside, Ali nailed a perfect knee to the face to counter the Ultima Weapon.

Speedball managed to hit eventually, but Ali's leg was on the rope. Despite the challenger's music hitting, the ref confirmed that the match wasn't over. A thrust kick from Bailey accidentally took the official out when Ali pulled him in, allowing Ali's secret service and Campaign Singh to pounce.

Singh cracked Bailey with the TNA X-Division Title, and the entourage held the challenger down for not one, but two 450 Splashes. A whole 900 degrees of destruction.

As the ref began counting, he was pulled out by one of Ali's outside members of private security. It was none other than Trent Seven, who laid out the rest of the group before Ali took him down with a suicide dive and a chair to the leg.

With TNA official out, Mustafa Ali called for his secret weapon...Montreal's most hated villain Earl Hebner!!

Though it seemed like the fix was in, Earl refused to screw Bailey. The challenger knocked the chair out of Ali's hands with a spinning kick and trapped Ali with a sharpshooter, forcing Ali to tap out. Mustafa Ali's TNA campaign is officially over...for now.

Speedball Mike Bailey defeated Mustafa Ali via submission.

Before the main event, we saw George Iceman and Hammerstone complain to Santino Marella about needing rematches with Jordynne Grace and Eric Young. Santino gave them a tag team match for Thursday, Hammerstone and Ash vs Grace and Young. Hammer didn't look thrilled about being near Iceman.

Six-Way Eliminator for the TNA World Championship:

TNA World Champion Moose attempted to form an alliance with Frankie Kazarian, but the vet abandoned him to the wolves. Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Nic Nemeth, and Joe Hendry piled onto Moose before Kaz attempted to sneak in and join in on the onslaught.

They took Kazarian out as well, leaving Alexander and Maclin to continue their long rivalry while Nemeth and Hendry went at one another. Hendry's meteoric rise in popularity has been an incredible journey, as we've seen crowds around the world fall to Hendry Fever. Tonight was no different. Montreal wanted Hendry as TNA World Champion.

Now was the time for the Walking Weapon, TNA's heart and soul, to fire up. Josh Alexander launched several of his competitors around the ring with a series of German suplexes. Maclin would be caught in a dizzying 10-suplex combination.

Kazarian nearly pinned the TNA World Champion after catching him flying off the top with a cutter. He went for a dive onto Hendry, who avoided it much like TNA legend Samoa Joe. This roster loves to give Joe his flowers.

Maclin went on a tear, laying into everyone with suicide dives, corner running shoulders, and more. As he went for KIA on Kaz, Moose would cut him down with the Lights Out Spear.

First Elimination: Moose eliminated Steve Maclin via pinfall.

Kaz tried to work on an alliance with Moose, but the sitting TNA World Champion planted him on the mat. The mics caught Kaz yelling, "Awh...I HATE you, Moose!"

Moose avoided Hendry's Standing Ovation and planted him with a powerbomb. Nemeth was launched into the corner with a buckle bomb, leaving Moose with longtime rival Josh Alexander. A superplex and powerbomb nearly eliminated Alexander.

After running roughshod over his challengers, Moose was finally floored by a superkick from Nemeth. The competitors scratched and clawed up the ramp to the stage where they all looked to throw each other through a table. It would be Nemeth who would send Kaz into the wood with a superkick.

Moose dragged Nemeth and Alexander to the ring and spiked Nemeth on top of the former TNA World Champion. Before he could capitalize, he was caught off guard by a cutter from Hendry.

Moose rocked Hendry with a boot and cut Alexander and Nemeth down with two Lights Out Spears. Hendry countered another and planted the champ with the Standing Ovation. With that, a new TNA World Champion was guaranteed.

Second Elimination: Joe Hendry eliminated Moose via pinfall.

Hendry's next target was Josh Alexander. The Walking Weapon avoided the Standing Ovation...and hoofed Hendry in between the legs! A C4 Spike would eliminate Hendry and leave the Montreal crowd irate.

Third Elimination: Josh Alexander eliminated Joe Hendry via pinfall.

Alexander continued to assault Hendry after the elimination, seemingly furious about the way the TNA faithful have gravitated toward him. Before he could lay his hands on the ref for trying to stop the onslaught, Nic Nemeth made the save. Alexander cracked the spine of the Wanted Man with a double underhook backbreaker and followed with a torture rack powerbomb for a near fall.

Nemeth managed to fight back to his feet and catch Alexander with a superkick out of nowhere. A little karma for the Walking Weapon.

Fourth Elimination: Nic Nemeth eliminated Josh Alexander via pinfall.

Immediately after the pinfall, Kazarian rushed in for the Fade to Black. It connected, but Nemeth kicked out. Kaz locked in a chicken wing only for Nemeth to counter into a pinfall attempt. Kaz avoided a DDT but ate a superkick. 1-2-No, the TNA Original just barely kicked out.

Another superkick and a Danger Zone, though, would seal the deal. Your new TNA World Champion is Nic Nemeth.

Final Elimination: Nic Nemeth eliminated Frankie Kazarian via pinfall.
