India beat Australia 4-3, in their league match. Two goals from Tushar Khandekar and once each from Rajpal and Shivender sealed the game for India. This game is also special because this is the first victory over Australians after 7 years. Last year Indian team lost to Australia 1-0 in the very same tournament. Wait of 7 years is a pretty long one. Move over cricket its time for hockey to shine. Indians have shown a great character in this tournament. Tushar gets a special mention because his 2 goals and 1 assist won us the match and got him Man of the Match of the Award. Shivender is in great form and he made up with a goal for the match he missed in Word Cup.India are now sure to make it to finals of the tournament. Now it is to be seen who will challenge India in the finals of the SAZ Cup.

Its time for team to enjoy because wins like these don’t come often. This is also the time to find out what were the strengths of the team and what were the short-comings. But this partying mood should not be continued for all the games. Australia had bought inexperienced team to play in this tournament. Focus on the shortcomings is an important factor which team needs to conisder. With the score of 4-3 against inexperienced side will give India a major boost, but it is just short term success, while the team should go for long term success. A great victory will be achieved if they beat full strength squad of Australia or even Netherlands.

But a win is a win.
