Day 5 saw the grand finale of the Carmel Rink Hockey Tournament 2011. The winners in the school category were Our Lady of Dolours beating St. Stanislaus 3:1. The player of the tournament went to Mr. Yohaan Coutinho from St. Stanislaus, best goal keeper went to Daniel Dsouza from St. Stanislaus and Man of the match went to Mehul Kadam from Our Lady of Dolours.
In the womens final between Valchandsons and Freunds, Freunds beat Valchandsons 5:3 to win the tournament. Wilma Kannan from Freunds received the the player of the tournament, Khusboo Noptani from Valchandons received the best goal keeper prize and Shyna Khuspota from Freunds received the player of the match award.
The final in the mens between Central Railway and Air India was a thriller as both the teams aggressively scored goals to get a lead. Air India beat Central Railway 5:4 which was indeed a close finish. Navneet Samnekar from Central Railway was named the player of the finals. Player of the tournament went to Boon Dsouza from Union Bank of India and best goal keeper went to Edgar Mascarenhas from Air India.
It was a grand finish to a 5 day tournament which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
