India, a country of foreign coaches

Is’nt it interesting our cricket team has a coach who played for Zimbabwe( Although he attained British citizenship after lot of struggle). The country has coaches which have led non test playing to WC semi final berths( Sandeep Patil). The country has to take services from Jose Brasa in Hockey who is Spanish national, I can understand if he would have been a dutch or a German national. Spain in past years have very pathetic track record as far as field hockey is concerned. Many of us don’t know Ric Charlesworth wanted to coach the national hockey time at that time, he was ignored, and subsequently Ric led Australian national Hockey team to Hockey World Cup triumph, Common Wealth Games Gold medal. In Athletics we have to take services of Uzbek’s and Russians who are masters in doping. While Milkha Singh does’nt seem to get his dues.

Yes, Bob Houghton and Stephen Constantine did a wonderful job as a coach of Indian National Football team. But they got stabbed by the poor and unorganized authorities. Both of them had determination to make Indian Football at World Map. Kenny Natt is also doing a good job as a head coach of Indian National Basketball team, I hope he gets a good support By Basketball Federation of India(BFI). He has introduced attacking style in Basketball. Michael Nobbs is also doing well as a coach of Indian national Hockey team.

I fail to understand apart from few exception, why does the country rely heavily on foreign coaches? Why did we not recognize the services of Lal Chand Rajput? He was chief architect of India’s T20 WC. Milkha Singh/P.T Usha in Athletics? The sporting authorities must do there Homework well before choosing the coaches. India has got a wonderful talent as far as coaching is concerned.
