Its all messed up
31 st May is very near. Hockey India has to elect a body democratically…
but Vidya Stokes President of Hockey India said that it is not possible to organize the elections. HI is planning to have the elections in June while the final date given by FIH is 31st May. A lot can happen in a month… Like losing the membership to FIH which will be the biggest blow to hockey in India.
It has been 2 years since IHF has been abolished and 2 years is enough time to select a democratic body and run the affairs of hockey. But for Indian hockey 2 years is not enough. There are three camps who want to be at the helm of Hockey India. Narendra Batra, KPS Gill and Vidya Stokes are all eying for the the top spot in Hockey India. And each one have their own separate camps and they are leaving no stone unturned to get to the top. Remember the story of crabs where crabs from every country except India were kept in a closed jar except the Indian crab. Same is going on in hockey, everyone wants power but no one wants do use that power for betterment of hockey
Also there was a press meet by AHF on the sidelines of SAZ. There were less reporters than the people there on the dais. And they were there to brief the media.
According to AHF, “ALL IS WELL” and the Asian hockey is developing. But the performance is not showing this scenario. Except Korea no other team is a reckoning force in world hockey today. And it is not good to hear those words from AHF who is supposed to be the head of all Asian hockey playing countries. Ever year or I should say every quarter the AHF comes out with a team of players who performed well. And that list is in their own bulletin. No list is sent to the media so that one can find out who are the best players of Asia for that quarter. And they say everything is well in Asian hockey. There is no communication to the media from the AHF. The only communication done is to the hockey boards of various countries.
Why Indian hockey has very less fans?
Because there is no hockey news for the people to know what is going on in hockey.
Why there is no news?
Because no hockey board wants to tell what is happening today in hockey.
What is international committees doing for hockey?
Nothing much because they have tried and still there was no solution.
When will hockey prosper?
The day when hockey will be controlled by those people who wants improvement in hockey and not those people who are just hungry for power.
