Do you hear the feeble, plaintive cry of Indian Hockey, Mr. Prime Minsiter?

Cool
Mr. Prime Minister

Our PM did a great job by being present at the CWG finals. Even though our team was mauled by the presently supreme Aussies, his presence generated a lot of positive interest and demonstrated solidarity of the powers that become India and Indian Hockey. Thank you Sir!

However, just witnessing an odd match is definitely not enough at your position. Mr. Prime Minister, it is time you personally intervened to stop the politicking, nepotism and rot that is destroying Indian Hockey.

Megalomaniacs with purely self serving greedy interests have betrayed this sublime national sport for decades. This is nothing short of treason. They have brazenly and blatantly looted Indian hockey and have destroyed several scores of truly brilliant and deserving hockey prospects, making Indian hockey impotent and filled with despair.

Mr. Prime Minister

Given the pathetic conditions of Indian hockey, it is difficult to fathom how some of the most impoverished, malnourished and inadquately provided for young people, that make up a majority of Indian hockeyplayers even compete with the might of finely tuned atheletes from developed nations.

India has consistently been in the top 10 hockey playing nations of the world and this bears testimony to the spirit and dedication of our athletes who toil to script miracles out of nothing. The damage wreaked by the present and past governance of Indian hockey is incalculable and extremely debilitating not only to Indian hockey, but to the sporting ethos of the nation.

Sir, please ban the polarizing, inept, geriatric and atrophied Babu-run federations and appoint a professional body to run Indian hockey. We have famous business schools who would willingly take on the challenge to put India on the OG podium by 2016. These professionals will administer Indian hockey as they would a business enterprise; management by objectives.

A result oriented approach which would periodically review and implement corrective action to achieve the objective of bringing Indian hockey at par again sans politics and ulterior designs. Such management would promote meritocracy and surely generate a majority of the required funding to achieve their objectives through IPL style tournaments, attractive Indoor hockey and through advertisement revenue.

In the past Sir, several petitions have been sent to your offices by the fast dwindling hockey loving fan base. This is the last bastion that is championing the cause of the poor and rudderless hockey players in India. Either these petitions did not reach your personal attention and got mired in the labyrinth of the infamous Indian bureaucracy or such matters are too mundane for you as you are fully comitted to the larger national interest of managing the challenges of a huge and fledgeling nation.

Either way, Sir, you are ignoring the will of a polity. So, if you will not or cannot assist, due to political or other restraints, please direct your Sports Minister to act on your behalf. It is now or never, because the chasm dividing the top teams and India is ever widening but still bridgeable. You personally witnessed the passion, love and devotion Indians have for this sport. No other sport evokes pride and oozes Indian self esteem as our Hockey.

Let the Indian Hockey juggernaut free from the present confinement and deplorable conditions and see the phoenix rise once again. Be the Indian Hockey patron and saviour and history alongwith millions of Indians shall always remain indebted to you. You and your team Sir, have done yeoman service for India to change the economic tread of this country, and for once millions of Indians feel a healthy economic pulse and have a fair shot at prosperity. You can and must direct a small part of your vast executive powers to make this sport whole again. If only for the millions of hockey loving people who are your constituents. Thank you.
