Indian Hockey team custodian Baljit Singh is set to undergo a fourth operation on his injured right eye in Alabama. He is currently undergoing treatment in USA. In June, during a training session at Pune, he was struck by a golf ball, sustaining a global rupture to his right eye.

After 2 surgeries, Baljit’s vision was slowly improving day by day. However, the pressure on the right eye is low as compared to the left. The doctors have therefore decided to carry out another operation to regulate pressure on his injured eye. Silicon oil will be injected into the retina in order to increase the pressure.

Renowned ophthalmologist Robert Morris is currently treating Baljit. Post-operation, it is expected that the pressure on his right eye will gradually increase, leading to marginally better vision.
