Sam Burns joined the PGA Tour in 2019 and is one of the best golfers in the world. He was born on July 23, 1996 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and went to the Calvary Baptist Academy before completing his education at the Louisiana State University.

According to his mother, Burns was initially into football, while golf was just a thing to do in the summer. Initially, they thought golf would be a phase, but Burns gave up football for golf.

"I thought golf was just a phase," his mother said (via Shreveport Times in March 2015). "I thought it would be just a thing to do in the summer. It just never went away."

Burns was once the top amateur golfer in the world and impressed everyone with his abilities. He had an incredible amateur golf career with three individual state championships and the AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year award in 2014. He won four tournaments in 15 collegiate starts and was the NCAA Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season.

The 28-year-old first played on the PGA Tour in 2017 at the Sanderson Farms Championship and had a reasonable performance as he finished T43 for the event. Burns won the Savannah Golf Championship in his debut year on the Korn Ferry Tour and sealed his spot on the PGA Tour.

Sam Burns has won five times on the PGA Tour, and his best season came in 2021-22 when he registered three wins. He won the Valspar Championship, Sanderson Farms Championship, and the Charles Schwab Challenge. Burns is yet to showcase his dominance in majors as his quest for a major trophy continues, even in 2024.

He represented Team USA at the 2022 Presidents Cup and was part of the 2023 Ryder Cup team as one of Zach Johnson's captain's picks.

Sam Burns is married to his childhood friend Caroline Campbell. The couple got engaged in April 2019 and eventually got married in December. They met for the first time in a church when they were just five years old and eventually started dating at Louisiana State University.

"She was actually my first Valentine when we were five years old. And then after that, she wanted nothing to do with me until high school," Burns said.

Burns is now a new father, as the couple welcomed their first child earlier this year. They have named their son Bear, and he is currently around four months old.

They like to keep their life private and rarely post about their lives on social media as they live together in Choudrant, Louisiana.
