On Sunday, Davis Riley and his camp celebrated the golfer winning the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge. Riley registered a 5-stroke victory over Scottie Scheffler and Keegan Bradley who finished T2.

However, while Riley and his camp were celebrating, his parents were not to be seen. During a media interaction after winning the event, Riley explained why his parents could not be a part of his 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge win. He revealed that his sister's health concerns were the reason behind his parents' absence.

Davis Riley said:

"My sister, it was kind of a crazy turn of events. She was at work one day (and) had a seizure." [8:48]

Riley further revealed that he was at practice when he received this news. The golfer said that after his sister suffered the seizure, she had to go through medical scans through which the doctors found out that she had a brain tumor. While Riley admitted he was scared, he said his parents were there with his sister. Riley added:

"But thankfully my parents were up there. She was around some amazing doctors and they took good care of her. And we actually got some great news early this week. They had a successful surgery (and) removed the brain tumor, sent it off for a pathology report and it came back non-cancerous which was amazing, big sigh (of) relief."

Davis Riley also said that after hearing the news, he wasn't sure that he would be able to play at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge. However, his parents convinced him that his sister would want him to play, and that is the reason Riley stepped onto the course at Colonial Country Club.

Davis Riley shared what it felt like to be chased by Scottie Scheffler

Heading into Round 4 of the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge, Davis Riley had a four-stroke lead over Scottie Scheffler. However, many believed that Riley would have worked hard to defend his lead against a player of Scheffler's caliber. In Round 4, that's exactly what Riley did.

However, after the event, he also spoke about what it felt like to be chased by the 2024 Masters winner. Riley claimed that when the World No. 1 is chasing, no lead can be comfortable. Further detailing the experience, Riley said:

"It was certainly nice to start out with four shots. But you got the No. 1 player in the world breathing down your neck. Not really any shot lead is too comfortable. I knew at some point today, he was going to make a push and I expected that. And honestly, I tried to treat today as if we both started hide and I just tried to win the day." [03:41 (above video)]

While Scheffler did try his best, he wasn't able to surpass Riley in Round 4. With his victory at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge, Riley registered his second win on the PGA Tour and also his first individual win. Riley's first win on the tour was at the 2022 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
