The Olympic field for golf is filled with the most talented golfers in the world. A selected few have won medals before since golf has only been an Olympic event four times prior (three for women). There aren't that many golf Olympic medalists at all, but most of them will not be in the field.

Here are five notable players who won't have the chance to add a medal to their count:

5) Rory Sabbatini

Rory Sabbatini's medal count will stay at one for now as the lone medalist from 2020 will not be back in the field. He earned his first and only Olympic medal with a terrific performance in Tokyo. He earned silver, just getting out ahead of what turned out to be a seven-man playoff (that C.T. Pan won) for the bronze medal.

4) Inbee Park

Inbee Park is a decorated female golfer, as she spent four different impressive time periods as the World No. 1: April 2013 to June 2014, October 2014 to February 2015, June 2015 to October 2015, and April to July 2018. She also has an Olympic medal, taking home the gold in 2016 at Rio. Unfortunately, she won't be able to compete in Paris and try to double her medal total.

3) Matt Kuchar

Matt Kuchar doesn't have a Major title and remains one of the most talented to go without one, but he does have something the vast majority of golfers don't: an Olympic medal. Kuchar was just good enough to make the podium in Rio during the 2016 Olympics, earning the bronze medal. He didn't get one in 2020 (or 2021 since it was delayed for COVID-19) and won't be back to earn another in 2024.

2) Henrik Stenson

Henrik Stenson now plays in LIV Golf, which makes qualifying for certain events a little harder. However, the Swedish golfer is not one of the two players being sent by his home country: Alex Noren and Ludvig Aberg. He will not get the chance to add to his medal count that began with a silver in 2016.

1) Justin Rose

Justin Rose is unfortunately not competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The gold medalist from 2016 will not be able to add a second medal to his tally. He put together a brilliant performance at the Open Championship recently, falling to fellow gold medalist Xander Schauffele by two strokes. Clearly in pretty good form, it would have been interesting to watch the golfer give it another go.
