Scottie Scheffler won the prestigious FedEx Cup trophy at last week's Tour Championship. With a score of 30-under par 264, the World No. 1 golfer took home a $25 million cheque.

The last round saw the 13-time PGA Tour winner card in a 4-under par 67 but the day was not perfect. On the East Lake Golf Club's par four eighth hole, Scheffler's first shot found the greenside bunker. With 47 yards to the green, he went on to shank the ball, sparking a heavy buzz on social media.

Having carded in two bogeys for the day already, the 28-year-old made his last bogey for the day and recovered well from the setback over the next few holes. During his post-round press conference, Scottie Scheffler was asked about the eighth hole. He replied (via NUCLR Golf on X):

"I shanked it".

The reporter asked him to elaborate and the 2024 FedEx Cup Champion came up with a hilarious response to lightheartedly troll the reporter. Scheffler said:

"So, there's the club, like, there's the straight part of the face, and then over here is the hosel. And on that one specifically, I caught too much of that part of the face. Then that's why it went to the right. So it's shaped kind of, you know, a little curved. So like if I hit the straight part, it's going to go that way. And then if I hit this part it's going to come, you know, towards you."

Here's a look at the clip in which Scottie Scheffler breaks down his shank into simple words for the reporter.
