"You can’t just go and get a golf course” - Bubba Watson discusses factors deciding his LIV Golf team's new home course

Veteran professional golfer Bubba Watson has been a part of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf since 2022. While Watson was a non-playing captain that year, he eventually began leading the RangeGoats GC in 2023. Recently, the American professional golfer discussed the factors in deciding his team's new home.

Watson, a two-time Major championship winner, appeared on the "Fairway to Heaven" podcast. During a segment on the podcast, Bubba Watson was asked what is the future of RangeGoats GC looking like. This prompted Watson to speak about his team's new golf course.

The veteran golfer said:

"I don't know where we will be, if that makes sense, because we're looking. We have already talked to multiple golf courses. We have talked to multiple investors. Where can we move to host our event, to have our home course, be there, RangeGoats practice there, sponsors come there, things like that. So we have played with different ideas, but it's trying to find the right place that we want to live but also where we want to grow something... The ten-year plan is to have thirty to forty thousand spectators at the event. So how do you do that? You've got to have the right location, you can't just go and get a golf course," Watson said [0:09 onwards].

Bubba Watson further emphasized finding a place where everything fits in nicely. He also added that he felt the RangeGoats GC as a team was heading in the right direction, and concluded by saying every team in LIV Golf would get better as new talent keeps coming.
