Scottie Scheffler is currently competing at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. Golf fans were treated to an adorable moment when Scheffler's friend and PGA Tour player Sam Burns lifted the former's three-month-old son Bennett.

In a video posted by the PGA Tour, Scheffler focused on his game while Burns stood in the background, holding the baby. A few seconds later, Burns lifted Bennett high in the air, giving the toddler a perfect view of his father's game.

PGA Tour captioned the post on X:

"Uncle Sam making sure Bennett gets a great view of dad."

Scheffler and Burns have been friends since their teenage years and their friendship has only grown stronger on the PGA Tour. Both often share rental houses while playing at tournaments. Burns was holding Bennett from the same shared rental home on Friday, August 16.

Scottie Scheffler is currently positioned fourth with an aggregate score of 9-under 131. In the first round, Scheffler scored five birdies on 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th against a bogey on par-4 13th. He scored 4-under 66 in the first round.

In the second round, Scheffler scored two birdies on 3rd and 8th on the front nine. On the back nine, he scored three more birdies on 15th, 16th, and 17th to finish 5-under 65. Talking about his round, Scheffler said (via PGA Tour):

"Today it's just nice to have a clean card. No bogeys, did a good job of having some nice up-and-downs to kind of keep the momentum and the round going."
"I holed a nice putt for par early in the round on 5 and then I had a couple nice chips after that getting it close to the hole making what could have been a stressful par into a pretty stress-free par with some nice pitches. Overall it was a pretty good day," he added.

Scottie Scheffler is two shots shy of the lead. Denny McCarthy and Hideki Matsuyama are tied at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 11-under 129. Sam Burns is positioned third with a score of 10-under 130.

Scottie Scheffler removed a bug from his golf ball at a tee shot on the 16th fairway

As Scottie Scheffler approached his tee shot on the 16th fairway during the second round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, he noticed a bug resting on his ball. The big refused to fly, so Scheffler removed it with a gentle touch without harming it.

Talking about it, Scheffler said (via PGA Tour):

"It was entertaining because I grabbed both of its wings very gently. I was able to grab it off the ball and it was trying to flutter as I had it by its wings so you could kind of feel it moving. I just wanted to make sure I put it away from my ball so it wouldn't be going back on my ball."

Scottie Scheffler tied for 31st in the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship while he failed to make the cut in 2022. The 28-year-old will tee with Justin Rose and Nick Dunlap on Saturday at 11:35 a.m. ET. Sam Burns will tee off with Denny McCarthy and Hideki Matsuyama at 11:46 a.m. ET.
