It was not PGA Tour pro Joseph Bramlett's day at the 2024 Shriners Children's Open on Friday, October 18. During the second round of the tournament, the American golfer made five putts from a distance of around 10 feet to get the ball into the hole.
On the par-4 first hole, which is 396 yards, Bramlett had a good start as he shot 300 yards to the left fairway, just 95 yards away from the hole. His second shot was 92 yards, leaving the ball resting at a distance of 10 feet, five inches from the hole.
A third shot putt would have earned him a birdie, but he struggled on that ten-feet distance. It took him five shots to finally get the ball into the hole, and what could be a birdie turned into a triple bogey.

The 2024 Shriners Children's Open has proven challenging for PGA Tour players this week. During the first round of the event on Thursday, October 17, Tour pro Joel Dahmen was given a four-stroke penalty for carrying an extra club in his bag.
As per Rule 4.1b, players can only have 14 clubs in their bags. However, Dahmen mistakenly carried an extra 4-iron and was penalized four strokes.
Speaking of the unfortunate penalty, Dahmen said (via ASAP Sports):
"Bizarr-o. Never happened to me before. I travel with 15, 16 clubs. I think most people out here do depending on conditions and courses. You know, been traveling out here for a long time and never happened before. I'd like it blame Geno. That would be the easy thing to do. It's not his fault either. I played Tuesday and Wednesday out here. We didn't see it in there. It was an extra 4-iron, so I had two 4-irons in the bag."
Notably, Joel Dahmen has withdrawn from the PGA Tour event ahead of the second round. Meanwhile, the brutal triple bogey affected Bramlett's game, diminishing his chances of winning the tournament. He settled in a tie for 49th place after Friday's round.

Joseph Bramlett had an incredible start to the 2024 Shriners Children's Open with a fabulous round of 64. He shot a bogey-free round on Day 1, finishing in the top 5 on the leaderboard. The 36-year-old teed off on the first hole and made four birdies on the front nine and three on the back nine for a round of 7-under 64.
In the second round on Friday, Joseph Bramlett started his game on the tenth hole with back-to-back bogeys on the first two holes. He then added a birdie on the 15th and another birdie on the 18th. The 36-year-old shot two birdies and three bogeys on the front nine.
On the back nine, he scored a triple bogey along with two birdies and two bogeys for a round of 4-over par. He slipped down 47 spots on the leaderboard, tying for 49th place.
Notably, play was suspended due to darkness on Friday, and players will resume their games on Saturday, October 19, at 10:15 a.m. ET.
