Robert MacIntyre came under fire for his language on the golf course at the Irish Open. Fans could hear him swearing during rounds, and it prompted an apology from the golfer. He took to X after the conclusion of his round to acknowledge the situation.

He said:

"I do this at least once a year. I am sorry for the swearing on course but guess what am not gonna change I play golf with heart and fight."

This prompted a response from $100 million worth (via Celebrity Net Worth) Andy Murray, who is set to play alongside MacIntyre next week at a celebrity pro-am. He said:

"Hopefully we don’t hear any of those sort of words next Wednesday, I can guarantee you will see some thinned drives however!"

Robert MacIntyre saw the response and had time to joke with his future playing partner. He quoted Murray's reply and provided a laugh for everyone following along.

MacIntyre said:

"Wait and f*****g see."

He even added a swearing and angry emoji for good effect. MacIntyre is one-under par at the Irish Open after two rounds. He's tied for 19th at the moment with Shane Lowry, Richard Mansell, and a few other players.

Andy Murray has spent some time on the golf course since retiring from competitive tennis. This is what a lot of athletes do in various sports. The next step is to compete in tournaments, which Murray will do alongside Robert MacIntyre next week.

He will tee off with MacIntyre at the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am on September 18. This is a pairing that makes the golfer more than pleased. MacIntyre said via Sportscasting:

“Andy is a hero to so many people in Scotland – and across the world – and it’s pretty exciting to be playing alongside him in his BMW PGA Championship debut. He’s been absolutely dedicated to tennis during his incredible career. But it looks like he’s been playing plenty of golf since his retirement. So I’m looking forward to seeing if all that practice has paid off."

Gareth Bale, Jordan Pickford, Troy Deeney, cricket stars James Anderson and Ollie Pope, comedian Michael McIntyre, and actor Tom Holland will also feature in the Pro-Am.

Robert MacIntyre has had a lot of success recently. He was part of the 2023 Ryder Cup team that trounced the Americans, and he earned his first win on the PGA Tour in 2024 with his father serving as a caddie. Now, he will get to tee it off with a recently retired legend from the sport of tennis.
