Shane Lowry scored 75 in the first round of the Open de Espana. But he bounced back with 66 in the second round and credited LIV golfer Tyrrell Hatton. This week, Lowry is playing at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid along with LIV golfer Hatton, who switched to the Saudi-backed league last year by signing a deal worth over $65 million.

Shane Lowry joined an interview after shooting 66 in the second round and reflected upon the reason behind his under-par score. He explained how ‘glasses of wine’ with Hatton helped him gear up his game.

“If I've been honest, I had dinner with Terrell Hatton last night and we probably had a couple too many glasses of wine, so maybe that made me play a bit freer today and I kind of went out and just played carefree and just a funny old game and yeah, on to the weekend,” Lowry said.

In the first round, Lowry bogeyed four holes, including holes 10 and 17. He had no birdies on day one. In the second round, he bounced back with five birdies and no bogeys.
