Shane Lowry is at Sedgefield Country Club to play in the Wyndham Championship starting Thursday, August 8. The Irishman arrives almost straight from Le Golf National, where he finished T26 in the Paris 2024 Olympic event.
Lowry played a practice round at Sedgefield on Wednesday, during which he was seen enjoying a snack. Those in attendance wanted to know about this part of the Irishman's diet and he was happy to explain.
"Granola yogurt, some berries, pretty healthy for me," Shane Lowry said via PGA Tour on X. "I'm an Olympian now [laughs]. Granola is a little soggy, but it's ok." [0.04 - 0:16]
One of the attendees asked Lowry to rate the snack from 1 to 10, to which the 2019 Open Championship winner responded:
"It's actually one of my favorite snacks. I probably have that nearly every evening. And I make it myself, which is like... I make an 8/10 every evening for myself so I would say that's about a 6." [0:20 - 0:31]

The 2024 edition marks Shane Lowry's seventh appearance in the Wyndham Championship. He has made the cut five times in six previous appearances but has only one top-10 finish (T7 in 2017).
Shane Lowry's 2024 season at a glance
The 2024 season has been a good one so far for Shane Lowry, who has made 15 cuts in the 16 tournaments he has played. He has finished in the top 10 six times and the highlight of his season was winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Rory McIlroy.
Lowry also finished well in all four Majors this season. He finished T43 at the Masters, T6 at the PGA Championship, T19 at the US Open and solo 6th at the Open Championship.
These results have led him to favorable positions in both the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and the FedEx Cup leaderboard. Lowry is currently ranked 29th in the world and 10th on the PGA Tour's long list.
At this stage of the season, the FedEx Cup standings are particularly important with the playoffs just around the corner. Ranked 10th, Lowry would have to fall dramatically at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first event of the postseason, to drop out of the top 50.
As a result, the Irishman is virtually guaranteed a spot in all of the Signature Events in the 2025 season. Should he make it into the top 30, he would automatically qualify for two of next season's Majors (the Masters and the US Open).
That would leave Lowry having to qualify for the PGA Championship, as he is a lifetime qualifier for the Open as a former champion.
