Scottie Scheffler visits Donald Trump's course to prepare for the 2024 Open Championship

Scottie Scheffler visited the Ailsa Course at Trump Turnberry in Turnberry, South Ayrshire, Scotland ahead of the 2024 Open Championship. The 152nd edition of the tournament will be played at Royal Troon Golf Club in Troon, South Ayrshire from July 18 to 21, 2024.

Scheffler was accompanied by his friend and golfer Sam Burns to the practice at the golf course. The official page of the Golf course, "Trump Golf" shared pictures and videos of Scheffler and Burns's visit:

Talking about their experience at the Golf Course, Scheffler said (via TrumpGolf):

"Yeah, thanks for a great day here at Trump Turnberry. We had a lot of fun, you know, getting ready for the Open Championship next week. And so it was a good time. Golf course in good shape. It was a lot of fun."

Burns added:

"Yeah, we had a blast. Awesome golf course. Incredible. And we got to beat up on our caddies today, too."

The Alisa course was originally designed by 1883 Open Champion Willie Fernie. It was recently re-designed by Martin Ebert from 2015 to 2016. The course is 71 par and of 7489 yards.

The Turnberry Resort and golf courses changed hands in 2024 when former US President Donald Trump bought the property for 60 million. Trump later renamed it Trump Turnberry. Trump Organization claims to have done renovation worth $200 million after buying the golf course.

Scheffler and Burns will be participating in the fourth Major of the year, the 2024 Open Championship next week. Both took three weeks off the golf course after participating in the 2024 Travelers Championship. Scheffler has had three top-25 finishes in his last three starts with his best performance in 2021 when he finished as T8 whereas Burns's best performance in his three appearances came in 2022 when he finished as T42.

Scottie Scheffler has had a terrific 2024 season while Burns is also having a great season so far. Scheffler has had six wins this year. He has had 10 top-5 finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in the 15 starts this year. On the other hand, Burns has had six top-10 finishes and eight top-25 finishes this year.

Scottie Scheffler's best performance came at the first Major of the year where he earned his second green jacket at Augusta National.
