Last week, Robert MacIntyre won the Genesis Scottish Open as his second PGA Tour win after the RBC Canadian Open. However, he wasn't able to replicate those heroics at Royal Troon. MacIntyre struggled to make the cut and his performance didn't get any better in the third round.

In the opening round, he achieved only two birdies to settle his score at 72. In the next round, he dropped four birdies and had two double bogeys and two bogeys to score 75. The projected cutline was +6 and he scored 5-over after two days to get through the cutline.

In round three, he again scored 72 and currently sits at T51. Looking at his leaderboard position, MacIntyre felt grounded at the Open Championship. He said:

“That's golf. Last week you were the champion and this week you’re just bottom of the pack".

Last week, MacIntyre won the Genesis Scottish Open with 67-65-63-67, which are lower scores as compared to the recent leaderboard at Royal Troon.
