American professional Michael S. Kim has been a full-time member of the PGA Tour since 2016. Most recently, Kim was spotted competing at the Wyndham Championship but had to withdraw from the tournament. Kim cited a back injury as the reason for his withdrawal.
On Tuesday Kim made an interesting revelation. Kim took to X (formerly Twitter) and spoke about "adult beverages" being consumed during a tournament.
Kim wrote:
"During my pgatour career, I’ve seen two times when adult beverages were consumed during a tournament round. I won’t share who but they weren’t doing it for better performance… they were just having miserable days out there."

As per the PGA Tour Alcohol Policy published in the 2024 player handbook and tournament regulations, a golfer is prohibited from the consumption of alcohol during a practice round or tournament round. A golfer can consume alcohol after play, in a responsible manner.
A PGA Tour legend once admitted to being drunk while playing
Drinking during play on the greens is considered an offense, and a player would be penalized for it. However, a PGA Tour legend admitted to being drunk on numerous occasions while playing on the tour. The PGA Tour legend in question is 1995 Open Championship winner, John Daly.
Over the years, Daly has been vocal about his struggles with drinking. In 2016, the American golfer shared he played in tournaments hungover. Daly made this revelation during an interview with USA Today in 2016. The golfer turned Country Music artist said at the time:
“I played a lot hungover. I played a few rounds where I was still drunk from the night before. One time [during a PGA Tour event], I played the front nine, drank four Coors Lights at the turn, then shot like four or five under on the back nine and finished seventh on the tournament…those beers released all the pressure.”
He further shared:
"I wasn't brought up silver spoon in my mouth. I'm a redneck boy from Arkansas who didn't really know rights from wrongs and wrongs from rights, but when I screw up I'm the first one to admit it."
John Daly most recently played in The Ally Challenge which took place at the Warwick Hills & Golf Country Club. The 58-year-old carded 74-75-69 to finish in a tie for 58th place.
Daly's appearance at The Ally Challenge was his 14th appearance on the PGA Tour Champions. Apart from this, he also played at the 2024 PGA Championship and 2024 Open Championship. However, he had to withdraw from both Major championships, doing so at the PGA Championship due to a thumb injury and at the Open due to a knee injury.
