Jim Furyk will be leading Team USA at the 2024 Presidents Cup, starting September 26th at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada. Twelve golfers have made it to the final team with six automatic qualifications and six captain's picks.

One of the surprising captain's picks was the 2023 Open Championship winner Brian Harman. He has never competed in the Presidents Cup before and will represent Team USA for the first time.

Recently, the Team USA skipper Jim Furyk explained why he chose Brian Harman as one of his captain's picks. He believes Harman is an incredible matchplay golfer and was impressed by his grit and tenacity at the 2023 Open Championship.

"Throughout his career, Brian has been one of the fiercest matchplay competitors I’ve seen. His grit and tenacity were on full display winning the 2023 Open Championship, and I’m looking forward to having that mindset on our side at Royal Montreal," Jim Furyk said.

Brian Harman has won three PGA Tour trophies and a major championship in his golf career. His performances during the 2024 PGA Tour were resonable as he narrowly missed out on the Tour Championship by finishing 31st in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Team USA skipper Jim Furyk and International Team skipper Mike Wier have assembled their rosters for the 2024 Presidents Cup. The biennial event began in 1994, and the United States team has often had the upper hand.

Team USA has won the Presidents Cup 12 times, while the International Team has just one victory, which came in 1998. The two teams registered a tie in 2003. So Jim Furyk will look to maintain this momentum and register Team USA's 13th victory this month.

The 2024 Presidents Cup will feature some of the best golfers from across the world, minus European players. Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, and Jason Day are some of the top names in the field for the event.
