Aaron Rai earned his maiden PGA Tour victory at the recently concluded Wyndham Championship. Despite playing in harsh weather conditions, the Englishman thrived under the heavy winds and rain.

The 29-year-old defeated Max Greyserman by two strokes to take home the winner's cheque worth $1,422,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points. Rai carded a bogey-free final round score of 64 to earn his first title since he joined the PGA Tour in 2022.

CBS Golf reporter Amanda Balionis congratulated the Wyndham Championship winner on Instagram and shared an emotional message alongside a wholesome picture of her and Rai. The message read:

"Aaron Rai rounds out the list of incredible champions that have graced our weekends on @golfoncbs this season! The Englishman had come excruciatingly close so many times over the years and to watch him come out on top on a week like this was fitting. Nothing about this week was easy. It was a true test of patience, execution and grit and Rai showcased all three of those qualities in spades down to the final hole."

As Rai holed his final putt to secure the title, Billy Horschel, who was his playing partner for the day, fist-bumped him to celebrate the victory. Golf enthusiasts worldwide commented about the great sportsmanship that was displayed on social media. Balionis also acknowledged the act and said:

"I watched as Billy Horschel and his caddie, Micah, had a really special moment with Rai’s caddie, Jason, as they congratulated him on the win. Jason was emotional and told me that it’s been a six year journey with his guy to get to this point and it was undoubtedly worth the wait."
