"Need a Nobel math scholar to figure it out" - Lucas Glover takes a jibe at the FedExCup points system

Following his runner-up finish at the Black Desert Championship, Lucas Glover took a jibe at the FedEx Cup points system, calling it tough and remarking that a math scholar would be needed to figure it out.

On Sunday, October 13, Glover fired a low 62 to jump 25 spots and finish in joint third place at the Black Desert Championship. He aggregated at 19-under, four shots behind winner Matt McCarty.

During the post-round interview, Glover said he was unaware of how the high finishes in the FedEx Cup Fall would help him ahead.

"I don't know," he said. "I still don't know how any of this works. I'm here because I didn't play good the regular part of the year. I think I got three or four weeks off now and show back up in Bermuda."

"All the math and -- I don't know, you need a Nobel math scholar to figure it out all. Just trying to play well, he added.

Lucas Glover finished 78th in the FedEx Cup standings after missing a few cuts towards the end of the regular season. However, he recorded T13, T3, and T3 finishes in three FedEx Fall events, respectively, which have propelled him to 61st in the standings.

"Struggled all week reading them" - Lucas Glover reflects on his struggle in reading greens at the Black Desert Championship.

Reflecting on his week in Utah, Lucas Glover was happy with his putting on the front nine. He added that he struggled with reading the greens all week, which he felt was the case with everyone except the leaders.

"Struggled all week reading them," he said. "Read them great on the front today and struggled a bit on the back. No complaints after that round, other than just didn't make much on the back."

The 44-year-old golfer was also disappointed with his putting in the first three rounds. He said the result could have been different if he had putted better during the first three days.

"If I'd have putted better the first three days I would've been right there. I played identical as today; just made some putts," he added.

This was Glover's second straight top-10 finish in the FedEx Fall season. Last week, he registered a T3 finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He will take a few weeks break before competing at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship next month.
