Andy Murray is set to play in the DP World Tour's BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am. His participation was officially announced by the organizers on Friday, September 6.

Murray, one of the greatest tennis players of modern times, recently retired after the Paris Olympics. He is now set to make an appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, which will take place from September 19 to 22 at Wentworth, England.

On Thursday, the BMW PGA Championship confirmed Murray's participation on social media.

Andy Murray changes his X bio after being announced on the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am playing field

One month after quitting tennis, Andy Murray has taken up a different sport. He has also updated his bio following these recent developments.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that Murray will participate in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am. Following the announcement, he updated his bio on X.

"I played tennis. I now play golf," his new bio read.

A couple of months ago, the four-time Grand Slam champion spoke about his retirement plans, mentioning that he hoped to become a scratch golfer.

"Initially, I want to be at home with my family," he said as per the Mirror. "I want to spend a lot of time with my kids and my wife, so I won't be on the road much, I know that. ‌I'll play a lot of golf - I want to become a scratch golfer. I've always loved playing golf, but because of the issues with my back, I haven't played for five or six years."

Besides Andy Murray, the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am will also feature other sporting personalities such as Gareth Bale, James Anderson, and Stuart Broad.
