After a T35 finish at the BMW PGA Championship, Matt Fitzpatrick is set to compete at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This year's edition of the tournament will be played between October 3-6 at three iconic golf courses - Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, and the Old Course at St. Andrews.

Before play can begin at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Fitzpatrick was part of a press conference where he was asked a lot of questions related to golf. One such question was about how he assesses the 2024 season in general.

Fitzpatrick was critical of himself in his answer as he said:

Yeah, really poor. Really poor. Not what I wanted to achieve at all. Not coming into contention once, or probably once, to be fair. Yeah, just not at all what I wanted.

This season, Matt Fitzpatrick has not been able to win a single tournament on the PGA Tour or the DP World Tour. On the PGA Tour, Fitzpatrick played 20 events, and he was able to register top 10 finishes in only three events. On the other hand, he played two events on the DP World Tour and is yet to finish in the top 10.
