Kevin Yu jumps over 60 World Golf Ranking spots: New position and points explored

Kevin Yu, a 26-year-old golfer from Taiwan, won the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship held from 3 to 6 October. The second FedExCup fall event was held at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Mississippi.

The victory saw Yu jump 64 spots from 135th to 71st on the Official World Golf Rankings. He surpassed the likes of Jordan Spieth, Joaquin Niemann, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Rodgers and many others.

Yu won $1,368,000 of the total $7.6 million prize money at the tournament. He also received 500 FedExCup Fall points and jumped from 96th to 60th in the standings. His win at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship was his first PGA Tour win in his 56th start. He said, via ASAP Sports:

"It's literally a dream come true. I've been dreaming of this moment since I was five. I think this is the dream for all the golfers, to win on PGA."

Kevin Yu defeated Beau Hossler in playoffs by a birdie on the first extra hole. Hossler jumped 21 spots in the OWGR rankings from 100th to 71st place. He received $828,400 and 300 FedExCup Fall points for his runner-up finish.

Lucas Grover, who tied for third, jumped from 60th to 49th. He took home $448,400 and 162.50 FedExCup Fall points. Keith Mitchell also climbed six spots from 89th to 83rd after finishing tied for third.

Other notable jumps in ranking after the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship were made by Alex Smalley who went from 179th to 155th, Bud Cauley, from 549th to 349th, Daniel Berger, from 319th to 244th, and Hayden Springer, who went from 212th to 176th.
