Lexi Thompson is retiring at the end of the 2024 LPGA Tour season. She made this surprising announcement in May and revealed this was her last season on the LPGA Tour.

However, she is not the only golfer retiring at the end of the season, as Ally Ewing announced her retirement a few days back. She posted a video on her Instagram and revealed this would be her final season on the LPGA Tour.

Recently, Lexi Thompson sent a heartwarming message to her friend and fellow pro Ewing. The LPGA Tour posted her comments on X (formerly Twitter).

"It means a lot to me that she's going on her own path and journey of happiness. She's such an incredible player and, even more importantly an incredible person that's been a great friend to me out here. She deserves it. She deserves every bit of happiness," Thompson said.

Both Thompson and Ewing were part of Team USA for this year's Solheim Cup. Team USA won the biennial event, which marked the perfect farewell for both legendary golfers.

Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing have announced that they will be retiring at the end of the season. Both golfers will end their professional golf careers in December with The Grant Thronton Invitational.

The 29-year-old has had a resonable season on the LPGA Tour so far. Even though she hasn't won a tournament this year yet, Thompson has registered four top-10 finishes in 15 events. She has made $718,500 this season so far, with her best finish coming at the Meijer LPGA, where she finished T2 for the event and missed out on the victory by a whisker.

The 31-year-old Ewing has had a slightly better season, with six top-10 finishes and a runner-up finish at the Dow Championship. She has made $1.8 million on the LPGA Tour this season and will look to register a win before her final start at the end of this year.
