Despite going home empty-handed for the 11th time at the Presidents Cup, Adam Scott is in no mood to hang up his clubs. The veteran said he is hopeful of returning to the event a couple more times before he calls it a day.

On Sunday, September 29, Adam Scott and his team faced yet another defeat at the Presidents Cup, losing 18.5-11.5 against Team USA. This marked the tenth straight defeat for the International team, as well as for Scott. The 44-year-old Australian golfer made his debut at the biennial event in 2003 when the International team successfully tied the tournament.

During the post-round interview, Scott made it clear that he intends to return for the 2026 Presidents Cup.

"I think I can play for another couple years. I've come this far," he said. "If I can play in a couple more years and contribute a point, then I'd love to be on a winning Presidents Cup team.
"Like I said before, I believe there's something happening with this team internally under this Shield. I'd love to push along and give it one more shot if I can," he added.

Adam Scott, the oldest member of the International team, added that he had fun with the younger players, who motivated and inspired him to be part of the team.

"The standard of golf is so high, and it's getting harder for me to keep up, but it's them that I look to to see what the standard is that I need to compete and be on this team. Hopefully I can keep it up for another couple years," he added.

How did Adam Scott perform at the 2024 Presidents Cup?

Adam Scott entered the Royal Montreal Golf Club as the most experienced player on either team. He competed in five matches this week and secured two wins for the International team.

Both of Scott's wins came in the foursomes. In the Friday foursomes, he paired with Taylor Pendrith to beat Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa 5&4. In the Saturday foursomes, the duo joined forces once again to post a 2-up victory over Max Homa and Brian Harman.

However, the 44-year-old golfer failed to win the fourball matches and also lost the Sunday singles against Collin Morikawa. Despite earning just two points, he was the joint highest point earner at the 2024 Presidents Cup for the hosts. Only Christiaan Bezuidenhout, with a 2-1-0 record, finished with a positive win-loss ratio for the International team.
