Tiger Woods has done plenty of charity work through his TGR foundation. He hosts various charity and junior golf events through TGR Events, including the Genesis Invitational and Hero World Challenge on the PGA Tour.

One of those TGR Events is the TGR JR Invitational, being played from October 12 to 14 at the Pebble Beach Resorts. The field features 30 boys and 30 girls, from three different age groups.

The TGR Events page on X shared a few pictures from day one of the tournament showcasing kids competing.

There was a welcome event on Saturday, October 12th, while the qualifications are taking place at the Hays on Sunday, October 13th. The qualified golfers will then tee off at The Links at Spanish Bay on Monday, October 14th, for the championship.

Soon after turning pro, Tiger Woods started the TGR Foundation in November 1996 to give back to society. Through the non-profit TGR Foundation, Woods aimed to provide education and opportunities to help children find their passion, develop skills, and prepare for the future.

"It’s up to us to help students understand there are so many opportunities out there and provide them with the access, support, and resources to chase after their dreams. We all can be champions for youth," Tiger Woods said via the foundation's website.

Woods then revealed the reason behind starting the TGR Foundation, and also spoke about how it serves as a hub for STEM education for kids who are from underprivileged communities.

"When I was a kid, my parents taught me the importance of sharing and caring and instilled a simple principle in my life: try to make an impact in one person’s life every day. At TGR Foundation, we are doing just that, making a meaningful impact on the lives of youth one day at a time. Quality education programming in STEM and beyond can transform the life of a student and their community."

To raise funds for the TGR Foundation, Woods also started TGR Events, which manages the events that benefit the foundation. The Genesis Invitational, Tiger Jam, Nexus Cup, TGR Jr Invitational, Tiger Woods Invitational, and Hero World Challenge are the six events under the TGR Events umbrella which benefit the lives of millions of children.
