The 2024 Omega European Masters will begin on Thursday, September 5, and will be played at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland, till Sunday, September 8. There are 156 golfers in the field for the DP World Tour's continental Europe schedule.

The tournament's prize purse is $3.25 million, an increase of almost 500,000 from $2.75 million. The winner will take home $552,500. Ludvig Aberg is the defending champion having won the 2023 Omega European Masters. However, he'll not be playing in the tournament as he'll undergo arthroscopic surgery to treat the torn meniscus in his left knee.

Matt Fitzpatrick is the top-most-ranked OWGR player in the field. He has won the tournament twice and will look to win his 10th title on the DP World Tour. Miguel Ángel Jiménez will be playing his 34th Omega European Masters. Talking about it, he said (via European Tour):

"This is my favourite place to play golf, and I love coming back here every year. Just look around to understand what I love about this place. I don't know how many years I have left but as long as I feel capable of making birdies, you will find me at the Omega European Masters."

The other notable players to tee at the tournament are Erik van Rooyen, Sebastian Söderberg, Rasmus Højgaard, Thriston Lawrence and Richie Ramsay.

The tournament is a great opportunity for the players to earn Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and the Race to Dubai points. Further, for the European players, a good performance at the tournament can help them in the qualification process for the Ryder Cup.
