Did Luke Clanton make the cut at 3M Open 2024? Amateur’s score explored

Luke Clanton failed to make it through the cutline at the 3M Open, which is taking place at the TPC Twin Cities from July 25 to 27. The projected cutline was at -2 and Clanton scored a +1, as a result failing to make it to Saturday.

In the opening round, Clanton scored five birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey to finish with a 71 for the round. On day two, the amateur dropped two birdies on the front nine followed by three birdies on the back nine. Clanton also had two bogeys and two double bogeys. His round two score stood at 72.

Before the 3M Open, Clanton played at the ISCO Championship, where he landed at T36. He also participated in the John Deere Classic, where he finished in second place. Clanton played at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to end up at T10. He was also a part of the field at the US Open and stood at T41 at the end of the tournament.

Besides Clanton, Daniel Berger also failed to go to the third round. He fired a 75 in the opening round and a 5-under 66 in the second round. Others who failed to make the cut included Chez Reavie (69 and 72), Adam Hadwin (75 and 68), Joel Dahmen (73 and 72), Nick Dunlap (71 and 75), and Luke List (67 and 76).

List was at 71st place on the FedEx Cup standings and after he failed to make the cutline at the 3M Open, his only option remains the Wyndham Championship to make it into the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
